Andrzej Świetlik [born 1951 in Złotow, Poland] has worked continuously with the Łódź Kaliska Artistic Group, which he co-founded in 1979. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, he is a photography lecturer at the College of Applied Computer Science in Warsaw in the field of graphics.



He has photographed famous people from the world of culture, politics and science, including Zbigniew Brzeziński, Ryszard Kapuściński, Zbigniew Religa, Jacek Kuroń, Adam Boniecki and many other prominent figures. He also photographed renowned artists, including Grzegorz Ciechowski, Edyta Geppert, Kora, Czesław Niemen, Marek Grechuta, Stanisław Soyka, Adam Nowak as well as John Cleese, Danny de Vito, Gerard Depardieu, Marcin Dorociński and Wojtek Smarzowski. Świetlik’s photographs are also on some fifty music CD covers, among them Obywatel G.C’s Obywatel świata; Republika’s 1991; Maanam’s Derwisz i Anioł; Edyta Geppert’s Historie prawdziwe; Justyna Steczkowska’s Dziewczyna Szamana, as well as on many posters. His work has been represented in many solo exhibitions, such as Portrety świetliste (Light Portraits) [1993]; Ciszej nieco (Quieter Somewhat) [1995]; Jak dzieci (Like Children) [1997]; Bajki (Fairy Tales) [2000]; Lekcja tańca (Dance Lesson) [2012]; Błękitny Świetlik (Blue Świetlik) [2013]; and Ciechowski – Świetlik [2017].



Świetlik participated in some 350 exhibitions worldwide with the Łódź Kaliska Artistic Group, including those in Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Budapest, Prague, Marseille, Rome, Vienna and Montélimar. The Group’s artistic works can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Poznań, Wrocław and Kielce; Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź; the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw; the Silesian Museum in Katowice; Zachęta in Szczecin, Olsztyn and Łódź; as well as in many private collections.
